How County Administration and Finances Stack Up
At the start of this year,
11 counties had a county executive, 21 had a county administrator,
and 40 had an administrative coordinator. County board sizes
ranged from seven to 38 members. Most recent (2008) finance
figures show Wisconsin counties spent $5.05 billion on general
operations and collected $5.19 billion in general revenues.

Focus
Property values down, but
bubble remains
The total market value of
Wisconsin property fell 3.1% to $495.9 billion in 2010.
Residential values were off more (3.5%) than any other type of
property except forest land. But, relative to state income, they
remain high, prompting the question: Does the Wisconsin
"housing bubble" still have some more air to lose?
Only nine of the 72 counties had any increase in values.
